Humble Beginnings
Mission
J.T. Alexander and Son, Inc., proudly offers quality Shell, BP, Amoco, Union 76, and All-Star fuels. It was founded with a promise to our customers to deliver quality petroleum industry products at a competitive price in a timely manner. This promise has allowed us to expand beyond the county lines of Iredell County, North Carolina to become a regional convenience store owner and operator, as well as a major regional supplier of quality petroleum products through North and South Carolina.
1935
John T. Alexander founded J.T. Alexander and Son, Inc. in 1935 after buying a Texaco commission agency, located in Mooresville, NC.
1961
J.T. Alexander was joined by his son, Tom Alexander, in 1961 after Tom returned from UNC Chapel Hill and the U.S. Navy.
1978
In 1978, J. T. Alexander and Son, Inc. became a Texaco distributor serving the Piedmont of North Carolina. Since then, JTA has expanded into a major marketing presence in both North and South Carolina with the Shell, BP, Amoco, Union 76, and All-Star brands.
1994
David Alexander joined his father, Tom, in the organization in 1994. David, a graduate of the College of Charleston, is a third generation family owner and succeeded his father; and in 2010, David acquired J. T. Alexander and Son, Inc.
Our Expansion
J.T. Alexander and Son, Inc. is the parent company of Home Run Markets convenience stores. In 2011, David opened the first Home Run Markets #1, located in Mooresville, North Carolina. Since that time, David has continued to grow the business and Home Run Markets has grown to 18 locations throughout the Piedmont, and continues to look for opportunities for expansion.
